Granada is the capital of the province of Granada in the autonomous region of Andalusia. It is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada and is best known for its impressive historical site, the Alhambra.

The Alhambra is a Moorish fortress and palace complex built in the 13th century. It is considered one of the most important examples of Islamic architecture in Spain and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Alhambra consists of several areas, including the Nazarite Palace, the Generalife Gardens and the Alcazaba. The Nazarite Palace is impressive with its intricate stucco work, ornate tiles and beautifully landscaped courtyards. The Generalife Garden is an enchanting place with magnificent gardens, water fountains and pavilions.

The Alhambra attracts thousands of visitors each year and is a major tourist destination in Spain. It is recommended to book tickets in advance as access is limited. In addition to the Alhambra, other places worth visiting in Granada include Granada Cathedral, the historic Albaicín district, and the Sacromonte Caves, known for its flamenco.
