Gibraltar is a British overseas territory at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It is located at the narrowest point of the Strait of Gibraltar, the strait that separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean, and has a population of about 34,000.

The territory has a long history and has been under different dominions over the centuries. However, it has been under British control since 1704. Gibraltar is an important strategic point due to its location and its connection to the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

One of the most famous landmarks of Gibraltar is the Rock of Gibraltar, a striking limestone massif that rises above the city. It is not only a tourist attraction, but also the habitat for a variety of animal species, including the famous Barbary macaques, the only free-living monkey population in Europe.
