Tanger is a city in Maroque, about 14 kilometers south of Gibraltar and has a rich history dating back to ancient times. Over the centuries, Tanger has been influenced by various cultures and civilizations, including the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs and Europeans. Because of its strategic location, Tanger was an important trading and military base.

Tanger is known for its fascinating blend of European, Arab and African cultures. The city has a unique architecture with influences of Moroccan style, Moorish design and colonial heritage. Visitors can explore the old town, known as the "medina," which is filled with narrow streets, souks (markets) and historic buildings.

The city also has a vibrant arts and culture scene. There are numerous galleries, museums and venues that exhibit contemporary and traditional artwork.

In recent years, Tanger has experienced significant economic development, particularly with the construction of the Tanger Med Port, one of the largest ports in Africa, and the development of the Tanger Free Zone, a special economic zone. These projects have helped promote trade, industry and investment in the region.

Tanger is well connected to other cities in Morocco and Europe. There are regular ferry services to Spain, particularly to Algeciras and Tarifa.
