The History of Café NIL
In 1989 Manfred and his partner Thomas start to look for a suitable object to enrich Munich with a location where guests of any gender, age, nationality and other color should feel welcome. They found what they were looking for on Hans-Sachs-Strasse in the Glockenbachviertel: there was an animation relic from the days when the area was still a red-light district. The then well-known Fernadel bar, which did not allow any insight into the disreputable Demimonde interior, was converted - to openly point to a new era - into a pub with large shop windows, where everyone could look in and see what was going on in the colorful world inside. Of course, the new restaurant was also given a short, concise and catchy name.
